Recipe: Traditional Meat Loaf

Ingredients
Qty. Unit Ingredient
1 ea egg, beaten
2/3 c milk
3 ea slices bread, crumbled
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 ea medium onion, chopped
1/2 c finely shredded carrot
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/4 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c ketchup
1 TBSP prepared mustard

Instructions
1) In a large bowl, combine the first eight ingredients.

2) Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.

3) Shape into a loaf. Place in a greased 9-in. x 5-in. x3-in. loaf pan.

4) In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, ketchup and mustard; spread over loaf.

5) Bake at 350-degrees for 60 - 75 minutes or until no pink remains and a meat thermometer reads 160-degrees. Drain.

6) Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
